Last Senior Standing of the Class of 2015

Sandwich High School’s annual senior event, Last Senior Standing, took place in the SHS auditorium on Thursday, April 30th. Last Senior Standing is a comedy talent show featuring seniors and their escorts that are judged by five beloved Sandwich High School and Stem Academy teachers. This year’s show even included a prom proposal.

Five seniors went head to head to win over the audience’s loudest laughs and catch the judge’s attention. There were three categories that consisted of a special talent, enduring random questions, and a lip sync battle.

This year’s seniors, Sabrina Nelson, Jack Salters, Jack DeCoste, John Cahill, and Anthony Lambros brought a unique twist to the show. Everything from singing and rapping to impressions, pogo-stick routines, and self-directed films made up the talent portion of the night.

Caroline Murphy, another SHS senior, was one of the five hosts of Thursday’s show. When asking her about the big show before she suited up in her tuxedo, she said, “The audience should expect a lot of surprises. I hope it makes lasting impressions on students and parents with lots of laughter and leaves people talking.” The senior class president told us “I like being a part of this because seeing how the audience reacts ... to something you helped put together is fulfilling.”

Before the show started, Sabrina Nelson remarked, “I’m ready to dance. Not one talent is like the other; this is an extremely diverse group of kids.” After not expecting to take any prizes home, solely being part of the show for the experience, Sabrina took the title of 2015 Last Senior Standing!

After these seniors walk across the stage, they have big plans. Sabrina will be attending Emerson College, Jack Salters is going into the US Navy, Jack DeCoste is going to Massasoit Community College, John Cahill is attending Bridgewater State University, and Anthony Lambros will be at MassArt in the fall of 2015. This year’s LSS has set a high standard for the Class of 2016!
